Glo Dollar and VeChain: A Chapter Closing
Here’s what USDGLO holders need to know as we move forward.

Back in March 2025, Glo Dollar joined VeChain with a lot of excitement, with support from the VeChain Foundation.
We believed in the partnership, in the sustainability vision, and in exploring how the VeChain blockchain could make a tangible impact. And, in many ways, it did. We learned, we experimented, and we grew together.
But good partnerships sometimes run their course.
VeChain has decided to discontinue supporting our efforts, and as a result, we need to dedicate our resources towards ecosystems that do. Adoption has also remained limited, which makes continuing the integration unsustainable for us even if we were to absorb all revenue we generate in collaboration with the VeChain community. It’s worth noting there’s now a strong alternative with enhanced operability thanks to VeChain’s partnership with Wanchain, enabling swaps into USDC.
With gratitude for the time we had together, we will discontinue VeChain support starting January 1, 2026. USDGLO holders can convert their tokens to USDC until the end of the year thanks to coordination between the VeChain Foundation, Wanchain and BetterSwap.
If you currently hold USDGLO on VeChain, here’s what you can do:
- Individuals: Exchange USDGLO for Wanchain USDC via BetterSwap’s dedicated swap portal, available until the end of 2025.
- Individuals: Trade for VET on BetterSwap, until the end of 2025.
- US Organizations: Exchange for USDC on any chain via Brale, or through one of our OTC partners.

What this means for Glo Dollar on VeBetter
As of January 1, 2026, Glo Dollar will no longer be active on VeBetterDAO.
Users who previously provided liquidity can still withdraw their deposited funds through BetterSwap at https://www.betterswap.io/pools. All VeBetterDAO rewards earned before deactivation will still be honored and will be distributed to past liquidity providers and stakers based on their historical activity.
Our mission continues. We’re still building a digital dollar that supports public goods and makes the world better for everyone.

In this program, GiveDirectly identifies impoverished African villages to give their citizens $30 per month, transferred via mobile money technology, for 3-5 years. For people living on less than $2/day this is a transformational amount.
Glo's economic model is to invest its reserve in short-term Treasury bills and give the proceeds away entirely to GiveDirectly.
