King of the pot: a new weekly auction
Paddle Battle rolls out a new weekly format we’re supporting: a mix of all-pay auction and lucky draw to fund impactful crypto and public goods projects. The format, called ‘King of the Pot’, uses competitive bidding to collaboratively fund high-impact projects around the world.
In Round 1, $500 will be allocated—$250 by the highest bidder, and $250 by a randomly selected participant.
The partnership will support up to 20 auction rounds, with all proceeds going directly to public goods projects like Protocol Guild, Revoke.Cash, DeFi Scan (By DeFi Collective), Shutter DAO 0x36, Rotki, and growthepie.
$1M in funding: how it works
The new system makes sure there's always a live auction running, so communities can keep backing good projects without ever having to wait.
Bidders get 2 tickets for every dollar they bid, plus 1 bonus ticket per dollar if they use a referral code. Referrers earn 2 tickets for every dollar their referees bid.
Auctions are designed with two winners per round:
- All-Pay Auction Winner – The highest cumulative bidder wins the right to allocate 50% of the round’s funding.
- Lucky Draw Winner – A randomly selected participant also wins the right to allocate the other 50% of the round’s fundingchoose which public goods project receives the funds.
The first round of auctions goes live Wednesday, June 11, and concludes on June 19, 2025. Check out Paddle Battle to place your bids.
